Shadowfever by Karen Marie Moning

So where were we? Oh yes, we are inside the mirrors with Mac convinced that she had killed Barrons, the only man that would use the book to change the world. To her sister Alina is not even occur to her, no? The questions that we had from the beginning, instead of diminishing increase: why his "friend" has orchestrated all of this to kill him? But who is really Barrons? only a werewolf? And Mac what is really her? And then, mrs Moning, who initially told us that this saga was about the light and the shadow took us around? or for her "light" does not have a happy ending with Mac and Barrons happily ever after together? All the answers will come, even if only at the last page. The book begins with a sort of Mac's stream of consciousness: it's a flood of emotions, love maybe is not real love but it' the idea of guilt, loneliness that is self inflicted or from that sought by the idea of ​​trust, often misplaced, and so more difficult to give. Oh yes, because in this last novel, the real theme is love. Of all kinds, from the romantic and unrestricted access to the most fraternal love that sometimes makes us waver. The Moning tells us that the only way to move forward is to have firm points. Having confidence is the only solution to solve this mess. Self-confidence, and trust in those few people who are up to it. And trust, does not require that we know all of the other person, the true confidence also allows the secrets and lies, and are not always the only "white" or "good", like Mac tells us all the time.

I must admit that I started reading this book late at night, and I could not stop until 7:00 in the morning, when I finished (no problem, the next morning was Saturday, so I could sleep). And while I was sleeping I continued to dream about Mac and Barrons, as if these two characters, that are so different,  had entered under my skin. But what left me? I do not know exactly ... definitely sad, because this novel was the last in the series, and I can not wait, even now that it took a couple of days, to throw myself into this dangerous and mysterious world again, where I can not understand very well what white  is. .. I would say many other things about this novel, but I'm afraid to spoil the surprises (and believe me there are so many that you do not have no idea). Visto che non è stato ancora pubblicato in Italia, credo che tutta la mia recensione sia un grande e prepotente spoiler, quindi se non avete ancora letto il 4 romanzo (Alla ricerca dell’ultima verità o In pursuit of the ultimate truth), mi raccomando saltate oltre e NON LEGGETE!

Allora, dove eravamo rimasti? Eh, sì, ci troviamo dentro agli specchi, con Mac convinta di aver ucciso Barrons, l'unico uomo per cui avrebbe usato il Libro per cambiare il mondo. Per sua sorella Alina non le è neanche venuto in mente, no? Le domande che avevamo fin dall'inizio, invece di diminuire aumentano: perchè il suo "amico" ha orchestrato tutto questo per ucciderlo? Ma chi è veramente Barrons? solo un licantropo? E Mac che cos'è? E poi, la Moning, che fin dall'inizio ci ha detto che questa saga era sulla luce e non sull'ombra ci ha preso in giro? oppure per lei la "luce" non prevede un happy ending con Mac e Barrons per sempre felici e contenti assieme? Tranquilli le risposte a tutto questo arriveranno, anche se solo all'ultima pagina. Il libro inizia con una sorta di flusso di coscienza di Mac: è un fiume in piena di emozioni, dall'amore che forse è senso di colpa, dalla solitudine che ci si auto infligge o da quella ricercata, dall'idea di fiducia, spesso mal riposta, e così sempre difficile da dare. Eh sì, perché in questo ultimo romanzo il vero tema è l'amore. Di tutti i tipi, da quello romantico e senza restrizioni, a quello più fraterno che a volte ci fa vacillare. La Moning ci spiega che l'unica maniera per poter andare avanti è avere dei punti fermi, che tanto fermi poi non sempre sono. Avere fiducia è l'unica soluzione per risolvere questo casino. Fiducia in se stessi, e fiducia in quelle poche persone che ne sono all'altezza, che ci amano. E la fiducia, non prevede che noi conosciamo tutto dell'altra persona, la vera fiducia permette anche dei segreti e delle bugie, e non sempre sono solo quelle "bianche" o "buone" di cui Mac ci parla in continuazione.

Devo ammettere che ho iniziato a leggere questo libro a notte tarda, e non sono riuscita a smettere fino alle 7:00 di mattina, quando l'ho finito ( nessun problema, tanto la mattina dopo era Sabato e quindi potevo dormire). E mentre dormivo continuavo a sognarmi Mac e Barrons, come se questi due personaggi così diversi mi fossero entrati sotto pelle. 
Ma cosa mi ha lasciato? Non lo so esattamente... sicuramente tristezza, perchè era l'ultimo della serie, e io non vedo l'ora, ancora adesso che sono passati un paio di giorni,  di ributtarmi dentro a questo mondo pericoloso e misterioso, dove il bianco non si capisce molto bene quale sia...

Vorrei dire tante altre cose su questo romanzo, ma ho paura di rovinarvi le sorprese ( e credetemi ce ne sono così  tante che non ne avete neanche idea).
Quindi, per chiudere, magari se qualcuno lo legge e poi ha voglia di parlarne con me, scrivetemi che così ne discutiamo assieme....
